Natalie is a good friend of mine, we met at my previous job and hit it off the moment we started talking about body image (a topic very near and dear to my heart). I am so lucky to know her, and I was also very fortunate to photograph a few hours of her reception.
Jim and Natalie got married 11/12/13 in the courthouse and had their reception the following weekend! I must point out that all of the furniture you see in this post is what Natalie found at flea markets all over the Pittsburgh area to make the ballroom of the George Washington Hotel a lounge for her guests! When I heard the back story of this I got SO EXCITED. I mean it’s not everyday that your clients brings in their own furniture for their wedding!! They did all of the details themselves, from the amazing flower arrangements to the epic multicolored pomwheel wall. This mix of their personal details, the stunning historic venue, and all of the great people really made this event almost perfect.
The only thing that was missing was Natalie’s father who passed away a couple months before their big day. He is greatly missed, but we all felt his presence there. Many of their family friends wore Harley Davidson tees as a tribute, and when the band broke out singing “Glory Days” by Bruce Springsteen not one pair of legs was still.
^Natalie, you’re a knock-out.
^Not too bad yourself, Jim! 😀
