Hi, I’m Mandy! Just a girl who is in love with life and documenting it.
Me in the nutshell, Kevin (husband), our pets, family, good quality food, Kev’s cherry margaritas, all animals, thrifting, street style, travel, plants, interior design, making jewelry, creative writing, color, good people, mood boards, saving bugs, and run-on sentences.
I used to be based in Pittsburgh, PA but now I live in a camper and travel all over the U.S. in it with my husband and our 4 pets! We love Pittsburgh and go home often, but we quickly learned we wanted more out of our lives. You can learn more about our life on the road here.
Now you may be wondering “I am getting married in Pittsburgh, how will she get here?”. Flying of course! If your wedding is in Pittsburgh, or the Continental US, I do not charge a travel fee. When it comes to crossing oceans though, I have to charge a small travel fee. Check out my “rough” travel schedule on my contact page.
A bonus of traveling? I am not limited to just Pittsburgh for weddings. I am available for weddings, elopements, family sessions, and fashion work all over the US and abroad! Travel/exploring is how I stay creative.
When I finally picked up a camera I knew it would be something I would do for the rest of my life. I will always remember my trip to Spain with my high school Spanish club as my first true introduction to this art form. I had a cheap little camera but tried my best to take amazing photos. They were bad, like really bad. But after that I was hooked. I never thought I could make it my full time job so I went into business school with a minor in photography for fun. Fresh out of college I worked a couple years at a fashion company doing modeling, styling, photography, and marketing.
After leaving I didn’t know what to do. All I knew was I was sick of the 9-5 lifestyle. After some encouragement from friends and family I went all in to create my photography business. I literally had no money saved up, and no back up plan. I worked my ass off to make it happen. After the first year I was hooked, not only is the hustle to make a living exhilarating but I love photographing love.
My love story
Kevin and I have been together for 10 years. We met when I moved to Pittsburgh with my family in 10th grade, and didn’t really talk until we had a study hall together the last semester of senior year. We didn’t have any other friends in that study hall, and I specifically remember walking up to him all alone at a table and starting up a conversation. We became fast friends and I started crushin’ hard core. I asked him to prom via text message (total wuss), he said yes, and he still argues to this day that he was going to ask me the next day. We went “as friends”, but I knew how I felt. Afraid to commit in a time where we would really start our lives outside of the little Hampton bubble, we tried the “friends” thing a little longer. On high school graduation day, we climbed up on a roof, smoked cigars, and decided to take our friendship to the next level.
We have been best friends, and partners in crime ever since.
On September 6th, 2014 we tied the knot. It was a magical, colorful, and cloudy day in the ‘burgh. Which was filled with meaningful details and 90 of our closest friends and family.
With a background in fashion photography and styling, my style is detail oriented and timeless. I photograph your day with a documentary style and fine art feel.
I am a one woman show. I answer your emails, create your photos, edit those photos, and everything in between. I want you to have the best wedding pictures ever. Because I truly care about documenting the best moments for you to cherish the rest of your lives. (read: I genuinely give a shit about you)
I swoon over creative weddings with unique touches. Is your venue your grandfather’s backyard? Are your invitations made by a friend who does calligraphy? Did you make your favors by hand? If you have a unique vision for your wedding, I am sure we are a lovely match.
If you watch me at a wedding I can guarantee 90% of the time I have a big goofy smile on my face. I am so passionate about photographing love. Every wedding I photograph I try tirelessly to make it my best one yet.
I love what I do.
